Diwan of Palanpur 1878-1918. An enlightened ruler, he established a police force, schools for both boys and girls, introduced free primary education, built hospitals, founded travelling dispensaries and a library. He improved irrigation, sunk water wells, extended road and rail links during his reign. Commissioned work U.K.
